DR. ANDREA M. MEHLHAFF WEARE
MEDIA RESEARCHER & EDUCATOR
I'm an associate professor in the School of Communication at the University of Nebraska Omaha. I earned a Ph.D. in mass communication from the University of Iowa and a M.S. in journalism with a graduate certificate in gender, women's and sexuality studies from Iowa State University. My professional experience was built in news and features reporting; PR and advertising firm work; nonprofit programming; AmeriCorps national service; and medical research coordination.

RESEARCH
I research digital media / strategic communication, gender, and the body. My areas of interest include health, popular culture, and philanthropy / entrepreneurial communication.

TEACHING
I teach courses in media and strategic communication and qualitative research methodology. I also advise undergraduate students and master's student thesis research and professional projects.
